Earlier this year, my husband spent four days in the hospital – the first time we’d spent time as patients since I delivered our second daughter 25 years ago. This time, we were in a brand-new teaching hospital – and by new, I mean a week post-grand opening. What we saw firsthand is how much things have changed in hospital design since that stay 25 years ago. Architects, designers and technology providers are teaming with clinicians and facilities managers to create facilities that put the patient experience first.
